Mike Wiesner -
Executive Director
A Colorado native, graduated from Saint Louis University in 2000. After college, he spent several years in corporate sales, at both national and international levels. In 2005, committed to doing more, he left the corporate world and moved to Honduras with his wife, Michelle. They lived and worked as volunteers with The Adelante Foundation for over a year. Upon returning to Colorado, Mike founded the U.S. operations of Adelante, serving as Director of Development. Ever increasing his involvement, Mike supported organizational changes within Adelante as well as the worldwide management of the foundation. He was named Executive Director in 2010, as the organization reached sustainability for the first time. Combining his corporate experience and his passion for Micro Finance, Mike brings a real world approach and a dynamic energy to micro-lending in Honduras. |

Sophia M. Anderson -
General Manager A native of Illinois, Sophia moved to Honduras in 2000 and began exploring the Honduran countryside and getting to know the cheerful and unassuming people in the rural communities there. She was moved by how content they were, given their extreme poverty. Since Spring 2008, Sophia is happy to have had the opportunity to work with Adelante to help this underprivileged population improve their lives. She lives in La Ceiba with her husband, Patrick and two sons, Sergio and Ari. |

Oscar Meija –
Director of Operations
A native of Tela, Honduras, Oscar has been married for 13 years and is the father of two children. He has a bachelor’s degree in ecology and environmental studies and is finishing his business administration degree. Oscar feels blessed to be able to give Adelante’s clients opportunities that they have never before been able to access. He has been with Adelante for 5 years now. Oscar says, “Seeing the positive changes that are achieved in the lives of Adelante’s clients and families is the best part of the job.” As director of operations, Oscar aims to make his team more efficient in order to be able to reach more women. |

Claudia Nunez -
Director of Accounting and IT
In 2006, Claudia finished her bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance. The next year she started working with Adelante and within six months she became the Head accountant of the institution. She is currently working on her Masters degree in Finance in the Technological University of Central America. Claudia is originally from Danli, Honduras, but moved to La Ceiba to join the Adelante team. Although she is far from her family, Claudia comments that working with Adelante has been a great experience both professionally and personally. |

Marcela Reyes -
International Development Coordinator
Born and raised in La Ceiba, Marcela discovered her passion for working with those in need while doing an internship in the local USAID office and decided to make a career out of it. She graduated from Florida International University with a BA in International Relations. Having experienced the lack of opportunities in Honduras at firsthand, she is a strong believer and advocate of the significant impact a small opportunity can have in someone’s life. She is honored to be part of a team that brings significant opportunities to the impoverished women of Honduran. |

Lindsey Daly -
Administrative Coordinator
In 2005, Lindsey had the unique experience of visiting rural communities supported by Fundación Adelante in Honduras. In 2007, she became immersed in Adelante's mission and was an iatrical part in helping the Development team grow. Currently Lindsey provides part-time administrative and bookkeeping support. She lives in Denver with her husband, Trevor, and son, Evan. |
