Oscar Mejía, General Manager
Oscar began his career in microfinance with Adelante Foundation in 2005. In his 12 years of involvement with the organization, he has held multiple positions including Credit Officer, Branch Manager, Zone Manager, and Operations & Business Manager. He currently leads Adelante as General Manager.
Celso Batiz, Operations and Business Manager
Celso graduated from the National Autonomous University of Honduras with a degree in Agricultural Management. He began working with Adelante in 2007 as a Credit Officer in the Trujillo area of the Tocoa Branch. He served as Branch Manager in Tocoa and then in La Ceiba, and he was quickly promoted to Assistant Operations & Business Manager in 2014. In 2016, Celso was promoted to Operations & Business Manager.
Gabriela Puerto, Finance Manager
Gabriela graduated from the National Autonomous University of Honduras with a B.A. in Accounting and Finance. She joined the Adelante team in October 2010 as an Accountant II. After completing her Master’s in Finance in August 2012, she was promoted to Finance Director, and she has served as Finance Manager since June 2013. For Gabriela, working at Adelante has been the best professional and personal experience; she says, “There is no better work than that of serving those most in need.”
Ruddy Estrada, Information Technology Manager
Ruddy graduated with an engineering degree in Computer Science from the Catholic University of Honduras. He started working with Adelante in September 2015 as an Assistant Engineer, and he currently leads all initiatives of the IT department. Ruddy provides valuable service and support in all areas of the organization by developing tools that help the staff to be more efficient.
Amanda Blewitt, Development Director
Amanda had the honor of joining the Adelante team in June, 2017. She brings with her more than five years’ experience working and volunteering with nonprofits in Latin America, including a year serving as Executive Director of Un Mundo, a grassroots community development organization that facilitates projects in education, environmental conservation, and social inclusion in the Cangrejal Valley region of Honduras. She holds a B.A. in English Literature from Franklin & Marshall College and a M.Ed. in International Education Policy and Management from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College.
